Out of Work? Tips on Living the 4 Hour Workweek

In this economy a lot of people are either losing their jobs or quitting. It’s a cut throat corporate world out there & with pay dwindling and competition increasing sometimes it really does look grim. But wait, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and if you have an open mind you can reach it a lot quicker than you thought possible.

One of the most influential books I have ever read is a masterpiece in lifestyle design & grabbing hold of your destiny by Timothy Ferriss called The Four Hour Workweek.  This book deals with the big questions of when and why its right to escape a 9 to 5 job that makes you miserable in favor of being your own boss & working as little as possible. It sounds too good to be true, but Ferriss is living proof that his ideas and systems of work minimalism work.

When I finished college I took one look at corporate America and ran the other way. I decided that as scary as the thought of bringing in my own income via a small business was, the idea of slaving for someone else for pennies was much worse. eBay was my saving grace when I was looking for a quick & simple way to bring in extra money online. And I still think for entrepreneurial beginners eBay is one of the best ways to begin a life of freedom & fulfillment. Buying and selling on eBay teaches you more about free market & economics than most college classes, even kids can make money online via eBay. Dropshippers and Wholesale resources simply the process of finding products to sell and turning a profit.

But the secret key to eBay success, or any kind of business success is still one thing that most people don’t have: motivation. Succeeding at powerselling on eBay is not hard, neither is starting your own business really. But it takes a determination and a dedication that most people aren’t willing to cultivate. It takes a self confidence and fearlessness that if conquered will truly change the course of the rest of your life. What would you rather be? A follower or a leader? Most people say leader, but few ever do it… Make the change today that will transform your life forever.

Selling on eBay is a small step to ultimate success but can set into place a series of events that will truly transform your life & finances. If you want a step by step guide of how to do it that really holds your hand through the entire process and maps out exactly how to start making money back in less than a month take a look at the eBook I slaved over for months. It’s worth it, really. I created it to be everything I wish someone would have told me when I started, but instead it took years for me to figure out. Plus, you can’t really lose; I personally guarantee the book will pay for itself in eBay sales in less than one month. Come on take a look…

Not Making Enough Selling on eBay? Try Etsy!

We all know eBay is a great site to find nearly anything you could ever want, but let’s face it, sometimes another site comes along that works better for certain items.  A great example is a site called Etsy which is like a hippy eBay from 7 years back… in a good way.

Etsy is all about handmade, hand crafted and one of a kind items. Its lay out is simple, its point is obvious and its not a monster marketplace like eBay… which at this point in time seems like a good thing.

Selling on Etsy is easy

Now first off let me tell you this, I’m not writing this in cahoots with Etsy. I have no affiliation with them at all, I just like to promote up and coming websites that I see potential in. So how does Etsy differ from eBay? Well first of all, you have to be more creative.

You can’t sell lightbulbs, laptops or socks (unless you made them). Instead each product on Etsy is unique, fun and usually eco friendly.
What sells on Etsy

Also you can shop locally, by colors and a bunch of other interesting avenues to find items. When you sell on Etsy you can set your own price too and unlike eBay these fixed prices are the norm so they sell better.

Point is: If you sold/sell on eBay in any kind of creative market, think of selling on Etsy as well. I have friends that have had revenues increase 10 fold just by changing venues from eBay to Etsy or by adding Etsy on a side selling spot. Another good idea if you are feeling the eBay slow down is to sell on your own website, where you promote your items and market to a much smaller ‘pond’ of niche buyers. You can build an e-commerce store simply with WordPress and the help of a designer from Elance.com and you’ll be on your way to increased revenue, more control & less fees.

Its a win win for everyone!
