When I first started selling on eBay I never assumed it would one day take the role of my ‘real job’. Like many others I assumed that selling on eBay could never be more than a hobby and was a step up from a Pawn shop. Oh how wrong I was, in the coming months after I started I came to realize how obscenely profitable it was to sell on eBay if you found a good niche & put a system into place to streamline the selling process.
Today, the economy is different than when I first started & of course even eBay itself is different. Its bigger than ever but also more competitive, so what you may assume is that now its ‘impossible’ to make money on eBay much less carve out an income. Luckily for those of us who make our livings on eBay, most people think that way. Though the competition is stiff on eBay its easy to excel is you follow simple principles of success like good marketing, good pictures & offering a good product. Problem is most people never even give it a try because they see all the platinum Powersellers out there and just give up.
Trust me, if the current global recession is anything its a chance for the underdog to rise again. A chance for the baby entrepreneur within all of us to break free and start making our own money as opposed to relying on some corporate boss. So just get started, try it out… the worst you can do is not like it and the best case scenario you’ll find a niche in on eBay and be able to quit your day job. All you’ve got to do is try!
This article in Business Week recently highlighted the great opportunities for entrepreneurs in this current recession. Check it out & get motivated. Today is your time to shine & eBay is your key to success!
