For all you computer/techie nerds out there… Have you heard of the latest skyrocketing keyword on the world wide web? A keyword that is getting a lot of clicks, but a year ago wasn’t even touched on? “eBay Twitter.” Yep, that crazy, 140-word max social media über site and good ole eBay. Such strange bedfellows wouldn’t you say? So why all the sudden interest in Google searches for eBay Twitter? Because Twitter, for those Powersellers on the cutting edge, is the newest and best way to drive tons of targeted traffic to any eBay auction, and boost profits 2x, 5x or even 10x as much as normal!
This is the future, people, catch on now! My prediction is, Twitter will have a continually growing effect on eBay auctions. And like other social media tools, will have a growing influence on what sells and what doesn’t online. The key to using Twitter for eBay Powersellers is to tweet about things a potential buyer would be interested in. Example, if you sell candles, tweet about wax and candle making supplies. Also, tweet frequently. And in between informative tweets with links to the newest and best candle-making online seminar, sneak in some links to your eBay auctions. Well, don’t sneak, but don’t spam people either.
Start now, ladies and gents, the future of online auctions will be propelled by large amounts of traffic driven via social media tools. Even if you’ve never messed with Facebook, Myspace or Digg, just try Twitter and start making connections with potential buyers, then tweet about a few of your killer deals and “wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am” –soon, you will see an increase in bidding prices and more items flying off your virtual eBay shelves!
If you want to see how I personally mix business and pleasure into a tweeting formula that drives almost ALL of the traffic to this site check me out on Twitter here. Good luck and start tweeting!
