Twitter what? This is the answer you hear most of the time when you bring up the TW word. Twitter, as some of you know but a lot of you don’t is a social networking site where you post ‘tweets’ that are less than 140 characters long & are like mini bytes about your life. Most people use it for basic social networking or as a platform to tell the world that they just had mac n cheese.
So why is Twitter important & why should you be using it in regards to eBay marketing? Because its the next Facebook, Myspace & eHow combined. It offers ALL of the pertinent parts of every social media & marketing site thus far but with an emphasis on ’short & sweet’… so if you use Twitter right you can garnish a large ‘following’ of people who listen to what you say & will click on links you post to what you sell.
The possibilities are endless. You can post various tid bits about eBay and Powerselling, stuff about your particular niche (say Horse Grooming Products) and start to gain followers who are interested in what you post. This means they will also be interested in what you SELL and how do they know what you sell? Because in your ‘Tweet’ you post a link back to your eBay auction. Viola, the marketing circle of life.
Trust me, even if you have yet to get bit by the Twitter bird or that adorable little blue bird doesn’t just melt your heart on contact… still sign up for a Twitter account & start ‘tweeting’. You will thank you me in the long run when your auction sales are up and your Twitter followers are telling their friends about you and sending traffic to your auctions.
